Simulators , industry has moved away from training high risk simulated failures in an aircraft and introduced loft sessions to avoid training in high work load environments. Then a route check . No one saying send up an inexperienced crew to avoid intense training but just do it in a simulator .

Many years ago the Chinese had big brand new airports , ATC spoke good English , when stressed just raised their voice but speed was same . Good ground aids , wide runways and the military gave some airspace for certain routes to be established but they had issue with increasing the usage and looked around for help . They paid some Americans to come over and they improved things and now it\x92s a very good system .

The American system is confronting , aggressive to pilots that don\x92t do night separation , ATC are passive aggressive then quick to accuse . It\x92s running at %120 and resources are being reduced . For info I already know I can\x92t see airport , preceding traffic , a bridge or a taxiway identifier that\x92s hidden or behind me when I operate there next week .

mate , Heathrow controllers are brilliant , best of the best . They consistently impress , nothing seems to rattle them ( I know they are human and stress like we all do ) .

Must admit this is a worry , would military require NVG to be demonstrated during a check in a bright city doing a visual transit beside a busy city airport with over worked controllers ?
Thoughts to ALL involved !

The aviation system is past max captivity , many of the operating staff are at %110 on a good day , the rules are being pushed to breaking point . If you grew up in this system it feels normal but if you\x92re a visitor it\x92s confronting but hey it\x92s your system . To \x93 fix \x93 it a little will cost a lot of money , more people and time . To fix it a lot would shave points of your GDP , slow the economy and inconvenience many including the rich and powerful .
