Gear down

Have been going through the thread but cannot remember if we discussed and excluded the gear pins? There seems to have been more than enough turnaround time.

Hours

Captain in his 40\x92s with 8200 hrs but reported to have been flying for 22 years and being a training/check pilot. So would be interesting to hear more about confirmation of his experience.

TCMA @tdracer on \x93ground\x94

Would be interesting to understand more about the exact definition of TCMA\x92s \x93on the ground\x93 and some more detailed insight into its implementation (only one or more WoW\x92s or multiple sensing?\x85 is there a switch on the gear added? \x85is there an ALT/AGL check?.. how is implementation split over HW/FW/SW? \x85 ).

Also, how could external factors impact that sequence to run.

Appreciating your previous answers (as usual).

The impression (fdr&tdracer refs) at this point in time is that we need some pretty low probability causal or unusual factors to explain this event. Looking back at the 1,100 hrs of the FO and the captain reported to have a check/train pilot background I wonder if this was a routine flight or that some training may have been going on. Until now no specific information on this, but one of the many boxes that still need to be checked for application or elimination. Would be interesting to learn more about how Air India trains FO\x92s and what the minimum hours for captains are.
