As M2dude says, we just like to share some of our experiences with those who are interested.

I was Googling to see if I could find some info on how the CG indicator on Concorde functioned and found the following two links. The first one is an AAIB report from 2003 regarding a minor fire aboard G-BOAC whilst in transatlantic cruise which resulted in misreadings and failure flags on fuel guages. The second one is from the PPrune archives also dated 2003.
The last two comments at the bottom of that old PPrune thread are interesting since as evidenced by this ongoing thread (as well as the others running in the tech forum), seven years later, many many people are still fascinated by this gorgeous aircraft. http://www.aaib.gov.uk/cms_resources...pdf_029047.pdf http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-109948.html Subjects

Re: stiffeners. This is as close as I can match to the area in question from pics in my collection, no further aft view from this angle unfortunately. Alpha Alpha at East Fortune.

Gentlemen (and ladies) on this superb thread. I hope this question isn't too "spotterish" but I'm sure it can be answered here. I've learned sooooo much about this gorgeous aircraft reading these pages.
I was listening to this radio dialogue between the last Concorde to leave JFK on Youtube here: YouTube - Last concorde communication with JFK.wmv It's actually a very lovely (well to me it is) almost 7 minutes, with the very final sentences spoken each way - such a nice touch. Just being humble SLF though, I can't work out what "Mike" means in the dialogue i.e. For the last time, Speedbird Concorde 2 IFR London Heathrow with Mike requesting a Canarsie climb. Also ... expect FL290 10 minutes after, Squawk 1136 and Mike is the #### What's Mike and also the #### term? Thanks. CD Subjects

fleigle - thank you.
Bellerophon - I understand now. Many thanks for taking the trouble to answer that for me. Subjects: None No recorded likes for this post (could be before pprune supported 'likes').Reply to this quoting this original post. You need to be logged in. Not available on closed threads. |

That's the first time I've seen that blue lighting. There are many ways it could be described but I'd sum it up in just one word. Naff.
